I am opposed to the anti homeless rock garden. I was homeless for 1e years. The homeless are not dangerous. They have big hearts and look out for eachother. Thank you.

I believe in "housing first"- and definitely not punishing people for falling through the social safety net that has been cut to shreds in San Diego.

That money could've been used for those homeless people.

How can the city invest $60,000 in rocks to displace the homeless and claim not to have enough resources to assist the mentally ill and unhoused? Proposterous.

What a waste of city money!

This petition nails it. The citizens of Sherman Heights asked for something to be done about the number of homeless people seeking shelter beneath the I-5 overpass. The decision to respond to that request with this outrageously expensive, inhumane installation comes from the mayor - who obviously just wants to make the homeless disappear, and despite lots of political grandstand, takes no real initiative in actually solving the problem. That would require admitting the ugly truth, that this city has been thwarting efforts to create affordable housing for decades. Now we reap what they sowed - there is no place for people to go. People falling on hard times, families, women, elderly people, disabled people, people with mental illness, the throwaways of our greed driven system - after they are forced out of downtown, expect them to be camping in your neighborhood next as we do the heartless homeless shuffle.

What a disgusting atrocity. That money should be spent on shelters instead.

Is this evidence of "America's Finest City"?!!! It is definitely NOT our finest moment!! This dangerous ugly monstrosity was paid for without our consent, and shows the world our inhumane treatment of our most troubled citizens...the homeless and disabled, as well as those ecologically minded pedestrian s, runners and cyclists!! Any when our reputation is America's most SHAMEFUL City...will we also have to pay all of the lawsuits that will arise from this inhumane, ugly, expensive, ignorant action of our elected officials?!! Something needs cleaning out..and it is NOT just these ugly rocks!!!! :-( .Just DESPICABLE on every level!!

The lack of compassion and humanity regarding those without homes never ceases to amaze me. The fact that community funds go to such absurd and inhumae projects is infuriating. DO BETTER.

With so many people suffering and seeking help this money could have been much better spent. The signal it sends it that San Diego has no desire to truly solve the problem.
