I grew up and lived just outside of Boston for 20 years. I still consider it my home, to this day. You're better than this Boston

This statue is a disturbing display of the lack of thought that goes into the conversation surrounding the abolition of slavery from the white perspective. Take this monument to white saviors down.

The statue is a complete disrespect to the pain and suffering endured by black people under the rule of white men that in this day and age would be imprisoned for hate crimes. It has to go in order for this country to begin to get any better

We have a racism problem in Boston, yet we spend a lot of time pretending we don't. We have a lot of house cleaning, in general. Removing this statue seems like a pretty easy thing to do, though not the only thing. Surely there are better monuments to emancipation.
