Painfully accurate statue. Even if we're technically "free", we're still made to kneel before our masters

Please remove this, America could be ashamed of themselves. Europe has even given back land to people they’ve enslaved. Why is this an issue in America let’s be progressive! Let’s be the change.

Please commission a black artist to produce a piece of art to celebrate the end of slavery.

As one who has lived in Boston (now in Somerville) I had never seen this statue before, but the image it presents is not what we should be commemorating. Let’s get better art highlighting people and events that truly uplift all Americans!

This statue does not signify the equality that Lincoln strove to enforce

I am not signing this. Keep this statue. Lincoln and every African american are equal and free. Keep the statue. Black lives matter.

The present has no place for symbols that commemorate or celebrate the dehumanization and enslavement of fellow human beings.

This needs to be removed. It does not symbolize freedom AT ALL!

This memorial needs to come down. It’s message is antiquated and offensive. Please remove it. Thank you.

If Frederick Douglas was telling us this was a problem over 140 years ago, maybe we're a little past due to listen.
