This statue needs to be altered or removed. There is no reason for a statue that makes people appear inferior. Everyone should be treated equally and respected equally.

Even though Lincoln isn’t the worst person to put up a statue of, the slave at his feet is derogatory and hurts the message that the statute was meant to showcase.

This statue, regardless of what it claims to be memorializing, is extremely racist and furthermore is merely a copy of a statue that stands in Washington D.C., so what do we have to lose in taking it down? Remove it and replace it with the work of a Black artist from the Boston area.

Yeah this thing has got to go. I like the idea of Lincoln sitting at a desk signing and the former slave could be looking over his shoulder approvingly and pointing at the document. Can’t believe this statue still exists in a great city like Boston.
