I live in Concord, work in Boston. In 2020, memorialization of the black man kneeling to the white man is not something our public spaces need.

Mayor Walsh, I live in the suburbs in Medford, but I've lived in Boston and visit frequently. Somehow I never saw this statue! Now that I have though...Jeez. We can do so much better than this. Please have it removed. Thank you!

Even though the statue celebrates an heroic action by Lincoln, the depiction of enslaved people is that they are still enslaved. Keep the description, lose the kneeling black man. Does that mean we "edit" this statue? Yes, and I'm sure more difficult things thabe been done.
