The statue is a microaggression and should be removed. The whole point was to celebrate freedom from slavery. It doesn't do that. Therefore, remove it and replace it with a statue that DOES celebrate freedom.

Please remove this abhorrent statue from the city of Boston!! In absolutely no way the this statue inspire feelings of liberation and/or freedom. In fact, completely to the contrary! This Statue appears more as a visual representation of oppression.

I was not aware of this statue. Honestly, I don’t which is more repulsive, the lack of equity and dignity portrayed by the statue, or that fact that no POC were involved in decision.

I've lived in Boston my whole life and am sad to about I didn't even know this monument existed -- definitely over time to take this down and erect a monument to Black power and Black abolitionists. Thanks for bubbling this one up.
