I work in Park Plaza and have to pass that racist monstrosity on a daily basis. It’s got to go!

The home of the 54th regiment should probably realize that black folks fought for those rights too.

Remove this statue immediately. Let’s think about why it was ever erected. Thank you.

Imagery is powerful, and having a Black man on one knee in front of a White man does not connote freedom. Time to take this thing out and replace it with something created by Black artists.

Wow. Awful. And I feel terrible for walking past this a lot and never seeing it. Boston should could keep the pedestal that says Emancipation and have a new statue commissioned.

The leveling of this statue shows that Lincoln was above the black man. That is also the message being portrayed. If the man was at an equal level with Lincoln then that would be a very different statue and meaning.

This statue is disgraceful and a poor representation of America

Not art. Not empowering. A black man being subservient to a white man. Not showing that each man is an equal. Take it down.

This statue is shameful and incredibly offensive. The city of Boston needs to take this down.

Tory Bullock's comment says it all: "If he's free why is he still on his knees?" Boston has any number of great artists that I'm sure would be happy to make a replacement.
