Can we take this down, and commission something excellent from a Black artist? Further, can we figure out a way for that Black artist to not get bogged down in public process? Can they be accountable to an all-Black committee, for example, instead of having to negotiate with white gatekeepers? Let’s get this thing done!

Replace this with a new statue of the same two people, Archer Alexander (an ancestor of famous boxer Muhamed Ali) standing, shaking hands, with Abraham Lincoln, as equal men.
