His verbal abuse is inexcusable and he needs to be fired. These children have suffered enough at NL schools. These schools are not working. They need to be shut down and the kids bussed elsewhere. Almost 50,0000 million a year, half the city tax revenue/ budget every year. And our schools are abysmal.

Last year, a week following graduation he called the entire senior class back to apologize for the harmless senior prank they had pulled off a week prior. (The students hid business cards throughout the school with their class slogan on them!) The threat of withholding their transcripts, which is illegal, and the camaraderie of the class brought them back to “face the wrath.” While standing on his toes (true Napoleon complex!) and finger in the air, he told them they were “disgusting human beings” and “good luck in life, because you’re going to need it!” Mind you, some of his “so called favorites” stood before him.
Tonight, Mr. Spera, I would say to you, “good luck in life....you’re going to need it!”

Unfortunately my nephew had to endure being bullied and mistreated by this man day after day. But because of the love of a wonderful family and friends....you did not break him Mr Spera. I don’t know if you will ever read any of these comments Sir...but if you do just know that it’s disgusting what you have done to these children. I was bullied and humiliated by a teacher 40 years ago and it can still trigger me to this day. You should never be allowed to work with any children and I pray that someone will stop you from hurting anymore young people!

He was so oppressive that no one felt really safe to be themselves in our year. Literally the first year of college after escaping Spera's reign 3 people came out from my graduating class, me included.

My family has gone through lots of trauma due to the harassment of Nick Spera. He would target my brother and single him out making him feel like he had no support at the school. In my opinion I believe he should not be allowed in any educational setting.

Wish we had known years ago. Would never have sent our son to MSMHS. Ask the students for the audio rants that were recorded. (That was our final straw). Spera needs to be removed and LEARN needs to be held accountable for the academic and emotional abuse.

On multiple occasions he has disciplined my children with out myself or my wife knowing and when I would say that I will meet with him my children would ask not to bring it up to him for fear of reprisals

Class of 2014, Spera was a grade A egomaniac who gladly stepped on any student or faculty for the sake of his "perfect school climate" or his numbers. Most of the students had their own horror stories about the man but in the way he was "preparing us for the real world" none of us thought we could do anything about it except leave for just endure the abuse. It's was completely unfair and I don't want to imagine him being around middle schoolers. LEARN should finally own up and do the right thing and have this man no where near children.

Spera treated me well, I wasnt a favorite but he was always kind to me. Therefore I believe there could still be kindness in his heart but he shouldnt work with children/young adults. It breaks my heart to know that my peers suffered in scilence, too affraid to talk to me and their friends, let alone other adults. He disrupted the class room on many occasions as well, Pulling both teachers and students out of lessons seemingly to either yell at them or feed them lunch in his office. Neither seems appropriate for a school system.
