I know this man from many years ago on a personal level. He emotionally abused me and had a violent temper. He belittled me, stalked me, and tried to control everything about me. He is a classic narcissist and heavily dangerous. Unequivocally needs to be removed from access to children. If you have a child within his reach, RUN.

He is a evil man. Poor middle schoolers will suffer pressure. My child went through low self esteem and depression due to his behavior.

My daughter, a hispanic female, attended MSMHS for the class of 2017, was asked on more then one occasion if she wouldn’t rather transfer back to her sending district, he belittled her in front of other students several times as well. Denied her from having access to the proper resources to manage her anxiety, she hd chronic migraines that were medically acknowledged and he believed they werent a qualifying medical condition, forcing her to come to school or risk being kicked out despite doctors notes. He made sure the teachers knew she was not a student allowed to receive assistance with missed work past being handed it in large piles, nor academic recognition. Ms.Cregger spoke up for her and how brilliant she is during one of the many 504 meetings he pushed, and he quickly shot her down that coming into school and scoring beyond exemplary on tests was not valid after missing days. He forced her into guidance counseling and made her take an extra study hall, but more than half of her work could not be turned in for any credit, yet he still required it to be completed. Files also went missing off of her computer ranging from papers written for civics class to notes. He would hound her every time he saw her infront of other students, berating her about her attendance and going as far as the chase her to her classes while she attempted to leave the situations. School became a burden, and students started to notice her more frequent absences, which being constantly asked about also influenced her migraines, all of which were recorded by the neurologist. Her medications were not allowed to be kept in school other than ibuprofen, because he believed she did not need them. She failed multiple classes due to these things, amongst her anxiety triggering her migraines which in then resulted in her being incapable of attending school. She loved the environment, and wanted to become a marine biologist so this school was perfect for her, but his presence caused her panic attac

Nick has always been a polarizing person. He has been insecure since a child. He mastered being charismatic and welcoming at the expense of others. I wish he had moved forward instead of hurting so many.

My son was a fort hand recipient of Spera's disapproval of him. He called my so a loser because he wanted to enlist and it would hurt Spera's numbers for kids attending college. Also brought my son up in front of a board of 14 without my knowledge because his grades weren't where he wanted them, although he was nowhere near failing. When I emailed asking about why I wasn't invited to this meeting I received not one response.

There is absolutely no room for racism in our communities anymore. Despite the swamp-thing who currently occupies the highest office in this land and sets the bar for immorality, we cannot accept hypocritical behavior in our education system. The President will be next to go.

I was a member of the class of 2017. I was not one of his favorites, and it showed. I was denied a spot in NHS
both years that I applied despite having done over 60 hours of community service, being #11 in the class, and having teachers nominate me to be in it. Most of the people that got in were his favorites. Overall, it was not a great four years, because he made it painfully obvious after my 1st year who the favorites were and the others were just left in the dust to fend for themselves. Another note you might want to add to this petition, he was fired from my school district when he was still just a teacher. (Lisbon,CT)

Based on the comments, I am very concerned about this person becoming the Director at ISAAC. We were among the founding families at ISAAC where I once served on the Board. Based on the comments, he does not appear to be well suited for ISAAC which has a large number of minorities, reflecting the regional diversity. Please review his credentials and past experience, including these complaints seriously before putting him in a position of authority at a school many of us care deeply about.

My Daughter attended the school class of 2017.
When Spera visited her 8th grade class and presented the school we were beyond blessed to have come across such a school because she didn’t want to go to NFA as many kids who spent years bullying her would have followed her to yet another year. We were beyond excited she got in. Her first year was GREAT she loved the school. Well i would like to mention that overall i am beyond happy that my daughter had the chance at the education opportunity she was given because of all the teachers that work there. The staff and students definitely make that school what it is.
It only took a year for us to realize who was and wasn’t on Speras favorite list.
It was terrible for me to hear her talk about having to witness his favorites be called into his office for Chinese or panera ect. She knew they were getting it because he would come take select students orders right out in front of everyone. While other kids barely even get any recognition at all.
If the teachers and school atmosphere wasn’t what it was she would have transferred.
Spera may have been the founding principal but the school became what it was because of the staff.
Spera cared about numbers and statistics. Im not sure if maybe he thought scare tactics were the way to go, or not but he definitely came across that way. He would discipline and yell at the students for not preforming to the top of the top even if they were trying their hardest. So that when it came time for the big tests they would get a “top of the chart score”.
I hope that the new principal recognizes the staff and students and how amazing they are and help to boost them and walk by their sides rather than marching way ahead of them getting all the limelight to themselves and tearing them down.
I do not feel Spera should be in the education field. Maybe politics or the business world because he cares so much about numbers, statistics and being the absolute very best, but definite

I am a parent of a student who graduated in 2017. He humiliated my daughter in front of the entire school. He controlled which students would be able to participate in school organizations. Those who were not in his inner circle of chosen students were bullied by him and by his favored students. This man must never be allowed to work in an educational system. LEARN must take responsibility for past inaction.
