Regarding: REQUEST REMOVAL OF SPEED HUMPS
The speed humps on Rivershore Drive should be removed for the following reasons:
- Delays in the response of emergency vehicles.
- Liability of the village due to the risks of pedestrian accidents.
- Village costs for annual installation and removal.
- Driver costs due to wear and tear on suspensions and brakes.
- Short distance between humps and warning-signs leaves inadequate space for bikers, baby strollers and other pedestrians. Some homeowners are confronting pedestrians while walking around the signs.
- The abrupt hump contour forces a near vehicle stop which is inconsistent with a 25-mph speed zone, and results in effect to having five stop signs across ¾ mile length of public street.
- Deterioration of property values by being unattractive and aggravating to residents.
- Traffic is being diverted to other streets opening unintended consequences.
For the above reasons the speed humps are an unacceptable method of traffic calming on Rivershore Drive and should be removed immediately.

Ridiculous to have these things on a residential street. My suspension is shot from hitting these every day just to get home. Get rid of them.
