Get rid of the archaic rules governing the taxi industry. Allow the market to set the price for a taxi fare, not a rate-setting body that forces up the price of taxi fares and thereby reduces the number of people wanting to take a taxi. UBER and LYFT only exist because the taxi industry refused to adapt to changing conditions and the regulations surrounding the taxi industry are fixed somewhere back in the last century.
