The Hudsonville community (taxpayers and students) want all All Lives Matter (ALM) content removed from Hudsonville Public School buildings and properties. We do not want the ALM group promoted within our school walls in anyway. This includes posting in teachers rooms, bathrooms, hallways, and sporting areas. This also applies to teachers speaking in a way that endorses the ALM group. ALM has proven to be an organization that promotes hate, violence, racism, and even terrorism against our capitol. This is not what we want to be taught. The principles, superintendents and the school board of education should be held responsible to protect its POC (persons of cuolor) students and ensure their safety. This does not apply to teaching current events about ALM, although this should not be used as an opportunity to promote ALM. The removal of all Racist posters, T-shirts, hats, masks, etc. should be enforced as well.
The administration has acknowledged the volume of signatures and requested a formal meeting to discuss our specific demands. My team is currently finalizing the briefing documents and reviewing school district policy for this upcoming consultation.

This is the school district that has a civil war rocket celebration at one of their middle schools where kids are divided into Union and Confederate soldiers and the same school district that let kids make swastikas in chemistry class and because the kid said it wasn’t a swastika but penises that happened to be close to a shape of a swastika said kid wasn’t punished so I’m not sure what will come of this but I’m happy to sign this petition.

Call your school board memebrs and tell them to stay united against this factional, divisive, uninformed BS.

Proud to see this taking off. I’m embarrassed to have graduated from Hudsonville, Black lives do and always will matter

Finally, it seems like somebody has their head screwed on straight. I’m losing faith in Hudsonville by the minute... Not surprised if we were to see a ghost club meeting on the footfall field in the coming weeks

I don’t even go to your school but this is absolutely ridiculous and it is attempting to silence students who care about Black lives and Black victims. Also is there anyway we can get a protest started?

It is our responsibility to educate the younger generations about systemic racism and to encourage them to be more aware of our own biases ~ to help them to be more inclusive & loving & accepting of people who are different from us. This is urgent.
