When will it be enough to take action Augustana?

Trigger warning - sexual assault My sophomore year at Augie, I was raped by a poobah. I am currently a senior and he is too. I came back from the bars drunk and was completely taken advantage of, without my consent. There have been no consequences for this group. I’m sick of the D Chis, ESPECIALLY the Phi Rhos, and other sororities defending them as well. Enough is enough. If you claim to actually care about sexual assault, do something about it. Your silence is loud enough.

It's unfortunate that it has come to this. I know a hand full of Poobahs that are super nice and well rounded men, but the group as a whole makes decisions or the lack of action they take taints their image. Wish it didn't have to be like this but it is what it is.

Phi Omega Phi has been a negative influence since the first day I ever came to Augustana. Their reputation precedes them.

This group repeatedly breaks the rules and they never get the punishment they deserve. One day they’ll make national news and end Augustana Greek life for good. Do something before it gets to that point.

This is disgusting and should not never be allowed, regardless of the circumstances. It was a factor in my decision to leave campus. How many people have to be victims before you'll do something about it?

This cannot be allowed to continue.

This is a corruption scandal that goes beyond just the Poobahs. You know the reasons they are still here, the roots of the organization are toxic as well. The entire system has been burning though, it just took this long I guess for everyone to wake up. Ask yourself if you've done enough to prevent this in your own groups. Look within and you can better look out. Also to the Poobahs speaking out against this behavior of the organization, way to go. It's not a mutiny boys, when you're doing it to be a good man. So, who do you want to be?

We have let this slide for way too long. Just because they are the oldest fraternity does not mean they have free range to do whatever they want and only send a less than mediocre apology letter.

I am completely disgusted to learn that this is happening at my undergrad and the school is not taking action. Do the right thing, Augustana.

Get out of this abusive relationship, Augie. You do not need the poobahs

Rape culture isn’t tolerated so why is Augie allowing it to be?

They think they can get away with things because their sponsor is the director of Greek life!! Isn’t that a conflict of interest?

in 2014 there was a rape allegation that Augustana refused to proceed with publicly due to the fact this FRAT was a generous donor to the school. INSANE

The thing with this issue is it’s not just the girls in the slideshow getting objectified. The potential new members were subjected to it without their consent.

Real change needs to happen. Enough with the "boys being boys" mentality. An apology isn't enough. Sure, there's a handful of good guys, but as a frat you all are allowing instances like this to happen over and over again.

A slap on the wrist is a bit too light for what has happened over the years.
