As many of us who live here in Washoe County have been coming to these chambers for approximately 16 months, since April 8, 2021, have been subjected to a constant violation of our 4th Amendment rights by subjecting us to unlawful searches.
There has not been one case of “probable cause” nor has there been one single court ordered “search warrant”, yet week after week, with threats of not letting us into chambers unless being illegally searched we have had our rights trampled on.
Putting in the metal detector and illegally searching our pockets, purses and hand bags under the guise of “protecting the public” is complete nonsense. We The People know how to protect ourselves and many that I know conceal carry or open carry weapons to do so.
It’s time to come clean about the real reason the metal detector and the trampling of our 4th Amendment Rights, that one or more of the Commissioners was scared.
If a Commissioner is fearful for their life, then let them don a bullet proof vest, a helmet and erect a 1 inch thick piece of lexicon in front of their chambers location.
We hereby demand the removal of the metal detector for all meetings going forward and stop this violation of our 4th Amendment Rights and the violation of NRS 207.190 use of threats, intimidation, and coercion in an attempt to keep us from exercising our 1st Amendment Rights to air our grievances at the Board of County Commissioner’s meetings.

During a BCC meeting I specifically addressed Chair Lucey to remove the metal detector. The BCC, particularly, Chair Hartung should put up proof on the record justifying the detector only for BCC meetings.
Insanity inside and outside corrupt county commissioners
Remove illegal metal detectors and searches.
I am always against anything that is illegal specially if it is conducted by our corrupt government.
There is none, that's my point. I'm hearing it's not a priority, but at what time does violating ANY of our God-given, Constitutionally codified rights become a priority? After they are ALL gone? After the institution that has sworn an oath to uphold them has again violated their oaths of office? I say Stop it NOW!

I've requested the memorandum requiring the metal detector so we'll see what they come back with.
