The conflict of interest should have changed that venue immediately.

My daughter Kristen and I have followed this case from the moment Heather disappeared. No parent should have to fight to receive the much deserved Justice for a murdered child. Every concern of the Elvis Family I completely agree and am on board with. Let the 'Wheels of Justice' turn once again. Much respect to the Elvis Family.

Dear Judge Markley, I ask that you please remove yourself from involvement in the Heather Elvis case. I have read the statement from the Elvis family and I do agree with their thoughts. Even if you do not agree with their thoughts, then please remove yourself from the case merely for the sake of compassion for a family who has already been through more than enough. If they (as the victims) are not comfortable with you as a judge in their case then you also should not be comfortable with it. Sincerely, Michele D. Keller

I am so sorry for your loss and now on top of everything else NOW you have to deal with such an unfair (i cant call him a judge bc a judge is SUPOSE to be fair) person of the state !!! Im praying for you !

What a disgrace. Why is someone who knows the accused family allowed to be a judge in this case. I've never heard of people in an unsolved case being allowed to leave the area. SC is going back 100 years as far as the justice system!

Absolutely needs to recuse himself from this case. He should NOT have even been allowed to a part of this case. This is NOT hard to see. Is our justice system and that of SC not any better than this??

I support this petition. Definitely a conflict of interest here and this case deserves better. It's time for the Elvis family to get some answers and maybe they can have some small piece of closure. Its so sad that the accused get to relocate to make their lives easier for work, etc while making things harder on the victims family at the same time...Where's the JUSTICE? My continued prayers go up each and everyday for the Elvis family and their strong community.

I honestly have never heard of a judge granting someone who has been accused of murder to, not only be let out on bail, but to allow them to relocate. This judge appears to be biased & I support this family's petition in removing him from this case. They also should not have to shut down their lives in order to attend court hearings as their daughter is the victim in this matter.
They should also be allowed to express themselves during bond modification hearings that specifically have to do with the alleged murderers of their daughter. Let Justice prevail!!

The law is the law for a reason. As a South Carolina resident and taxpayer I expect our courts to follow our laws. This judge needs to recuse himself immediately.
Real justice needs to be served.
