Remove Leena van Deventer from Victorian Women's Trust

These comments are completely unacceptable and are indeed abusive and an utter breach of trust.

We need to fight for the right to single SEX spaces, particularly for women and girls who have experienced male abuse and violence. The comment about a female survivor of male abuse is totally unacceptable.

This is a disgusting way for anyone to talk about a rape victim. The fact that Van Deventer holds any position of trust or responsibility is an absolute disgrace to your organisation.

Absolutely disgusting comments about a woman who, after being raped, is only asking for an additional provision for a female only group. She doesn’t want to take the service away from anyone else. To wish humiliation & harm on her has got to be one of the most disgraceful things I’ve seen another woman say about a victim of rape.

These comments were quite frankly shocking.

Such language and attitude towards a woman who has been raped and is simply seeking a safe environment with other women to heal, is abhorrent. From a so called professional it's quite disgusting.

Shameful comments from a woman who's a board member of a women's rights group. Fancy saying a rape victim should be thrown in a well and spat on. Those comments would be abhorrent from a man, but hideous from a woman .

The comments made regarding a woman rape victim, that she should be spat on, have stayed with me. What a horrendous thing to say and inciting violence on a rape victim. She should be removed from any Board and any position that impacts on women

This woman's misogyny is extremely shocking. She must be removed from her position and never be employed to work with vulnerable women ever again.

the Trust needs to ensure that women on the board are empathic towards all women, not just the ones who agree with the board members.

This is absolutely horrifying behaviour. I am not normally one for calling for someone to lose their job but she is CLEARLY unfit to hold her position. It is even more frightening that people like her obviously think they can treat women so appallingly, with absolute impunity. If she isn't removed it sends a very clear message: open misogyny and victim abusing is now acceptable and here to stay.
