Remove Leena van Deventer from Victorian Women's Trust

No woman, especially a victim of rape should be abused by an organisation that is meant to support women. This is unforgivable and misogynistic.

It's been reported that van Deventer has stated that 'her sisters [fellow board members] will have her back'. It's difficult not to conclude that this kind of aggression toward women of whom they disapprove is common throughout the board. Women deserve far better than this clique of dilletantes.

What despicable behaviour!! Female sexual abuse victims expected to ignore their trauma so a man can feel “validated” in a space he very much does not belong!!!!! Shame on this vile woman!

Someone who is supposedly supporting women should not be tweeting this vile abuse at a rape victim.

Inciting violence against a woman is unacceptable.

It is simply not acceptable to have someone who demonstrates such contempt for other women to be on the board of The Victorian Women’s Trust.

These kind of comments are unacceptable from anyone, but I hear them from a woman who claims to support women is despicable

This service is supposed to be a support system for women violated by, most often, males. To speak about, or treat sexually violated women the way she has is unacceptable, and disgusting. Get this monster out!

Women need safe spaces from males.

This woman cannot be trusted to have women's best interest at heart when she is willing to speak of a rape survivor in this way. Remove her immediately.

She can't represent women if she's willing to throw a rape victim under the bus.

Platforming western fascists like Deventer makes your facility statistically unsafe for ethnics, national and religious minorities. The responsibility is on their hands to be inclusive of all groups!

There is a special place in hell for a woman who refers to a rape victim in this way. All for wanting a safe space a way from men in which to recover. I don't know how she sleeps at night - she should not continue in ANY capacity where she has control over women's care.

Women rights should not be held hostage by trans women

Ms van Deventer's comments are not only disgusting but also contravene the the Vic Women's Trust vision statement.
