I’m disgusted that a person in a position of authority in a women’s charity would behave in such a callous way to a woman who has already suffered trauma. Van Deventer clearly lacks empathy for all women and has no place being a board member for a Women’s Trust.

Victorian Women's Trust must show that they do not support this cruel and disgraceful behaviour. Allowing this person to continue in their post will mean their endorsement of these appalling comments.

Leena van Deventer's disgusting comments on social media concerning a rape victim show that she is absolutely unsuitable for a board position on Victorian Women's Trust. She should be dismissed immediately.

MS van Deventer is destroying the trust we may have had in the Victorian Women's Trust. Women have NEVER been so attacked from multiple angles as we are now. Trans Rights have intersected & collided with Women's Protective Rights in corrosive ways. Again and again, Women have lost the right to challenge these breaches of trust. We are coercively manipulated to remain silent, kind, compliant in the face of attack. I don't think so! As an abuse survivor, I am appalled at the vitriol of victim blaming and lack of any compassion and understanding by Ms van Deventer. She is not representing Victorian Women's Trust with any measure of respect.

No woman should be spat on because she sets boundaries with men.

Absolutely shocking comments to make about anyone, let alone a rape victim. The claimant isn’t asking for services to take away anything from transgender victims, only to also supply a female only service. Women have a right to this by law.

This woman is not ‘ Trauma Informed’ and has no business being in the position she has. Disgraceful.
