Kimberlie Wilson is a teacher at the Pacific College of Health Sciences. She harassed a student via email who was voicing her concerns about curriculum during a Curriculum Advisory Meeting where any student is allowed to attend and speak. Of the students who had been speaking up during the Curriculum Advisory Meeting it is no accident that the student who was talked to so rudely and unprofessionally was a Black woman. Now, Kimberlie Wilson is the co-chair of the Department of Professionalism at PCHS. This is unconscionable given the way she behaved. We demand Kimberlie Wilson be removed as co-chair of the Department of Professionalism immediately.

I am deeply moved by the stories being shared in the comments and it is clear that this issue affects far more people than I originally realized. Your willingness to speak out is the only reason this conversation is finally happening at the college level. I am just a person who saw something wrong and I am truly humbled to see so many of you standing together to demand accountability.

I am honestly overwhelmed by the momentum this is gaining. Seeing so many people recognize the gravity of this situation is entirely thanks to your willingness to speak up when it mattered most.

Perhaps every six months a requirement class on clinical counseling and professionalism should be required for faculty members.

how can students learn in an environment that is hostile to feedback and communication? how does this model the kind of behavior and care we should be offering our patients (and colleagues)?

PCHS needs to do a better job at educating and vetting faculty on racial issues. This is unacceptable.

Can you please share info from the thread so that we can have all details. I feel like I don’t jump at anything w/o some discourse

This is disheartening and completely unacceptable. Clearly, something needs to change.
