Remove Joe Lapia from Manor Borough

I agree that the mayor and council need replaced. I will vote for anyone that runs against the current regime. I moved here last year and have been told by 2 contractors that they don't work in manor. A third contractor told me he puts a "manor surcharge" on all bids in the borough. There needs to be an organized group that's puts a plan in place to run against those currently in office.

Manor Taxpayers are you aware that Council spent $28,000 on the pick up truck for the Boro Manager? Now they’ll try to blow smoke up your...by telling you the truck was purchased for the Emergency Management Director. A couple things to consider-1. When was the last time that Emergency Management was activated? 2. The Fire Department is more than capable in handling emergencies in the Boro as they have done since 1895 (not a typo) 3. A special vehicle for the Boro Manager to “patrol or troll” a 1.911 square mile town? Why not use one of the Police cars, they get next to nothing when they sell them and it’s not like he’s going very far. 4. $28,000 is almost equivalent to 1 mill in Boro tax. And yet they cut the budget of the Fire Department and Library. 5. Go back and look at the budgets since he was hired. Look at his pay and how much it has gone up since he was hired, we all would love those kinds of raises. I could go on but I’ll stop for now. If anyone wants to get really serious, like running a slate of candidates who will do something this time, unlike the 3 who were elected a few years ago, then reach out to me, I have more information to share.

I lived near him for 20 years at 6:30 in the morning he blowes snow of his driveway with a gas leaf blower and wakes my family up, in Manor no power tools till 8am. If that was one of us what would happen? I have talked to many contractors of all kind about him they all say he makes there life miserable. You ask him a question about something that's his job he acts like his doing you a favor. He drives around or walks around like he is the king. I could be here for ever listing things but I see everybody is on the same page except the Mayor and council. Maybe we need to change the Mayor and council? How about the pick and choose who pays for work permits and who doesn't!

I agree with all of the comments made here. Renting the hall for a special occasion is made miserable, this may be why rentals are down. Where will we vote if they change this into the police station? Not to mention displacing the fire department fundraisers. I have been yelled at by Joe on several occasions and in the same conversation he told ME I WAS BEING RUDE! Blocking good organizations from using the Sandyhill corner lot is ridiculous, long standing traditions to fundraise made to jump through hoops to continue to sell chicken, hoagies etc. Our tax dollars pay his salary to be our public servant, not a dictator

I begged him to leave the solitary street light on our dead end street. He said that it cost the Boro $8.92 a month and that I could call the electric company and have it put in my name. He was arrogant and dismissive. Once it was removed, our street was so dark that it was almost eerie coming home after work. The kids stopped playing outside. When I saw Mr. Lapia again, I told him that kids were missing the school bus because the bus driver couldn't see them running down the street. He said they should never be late, hard to argue with but it does happen. I told him trick or treaters avoided our street because it was so dark. He said they were sissies. My daughter went to put a letter in the mailbox and when she stepped off the curb, she didn't see the gravel in the dark and sprained her ankle. We tried to install our own but on our budget, it didn't come close to the original street light. Insult to injury, the new neighborhood built has ample street lights. They certainly deserve them but the rest of us do too.. Guess our old neighborhood wasn't important enough. I've had several discussions with this man and he is always rude. Disrespectful to woman is an understatement.

Arrogant,condescending, manufacturers problems, harassing behavior directed at residents trying to make home improvements and simply a JERK!!

Joe is the ONLY negative thing about Manor. He strolls the streets looking for something or someone to bitch about. He has no asset to our community. Contractors refuse our neighbor solely because of him. Please get this arrogant man out of here. Make Manor great again!

I won’t do work in Manor borough because of him. It’s a shame because I grew up there and would love to see it prosper. If you can’t improve your property, the property value goes down, good people leave and bad people move in. He’s supposed to work with the community and contractors so that Manor stays a beautiful place to live, generate new revenue when possible. Cancer festers when gone untreated. Give Manor a new lease on life before it’s out of control.
