Jim Price is currently the color commentator for the Detroit Tigers radio broadcasts. This petition will be delivered to the Detroit Tigers organization and flagship station 97.1, The Ticket. Price has gotten worse year after year and speaks as if he is being paid by the word. He makes listening to radio broadcasts unbearable. He incessantly talks over and interrupts Dan Dickerson and offers nothing of use to the listener. He is unsophisticated and speaks in hokey terms. He has to add a laugh or utterance during what would be great home run calls. No one cares about his time as a bullpen catcher in 1968. He seems like a nice man, but he has no ability and is making listeners drop like flies. Please remove him from the broadcasts so listeners can enjoy the games with a little silence and dead air.
The radio broadcasts continue to be interrupted by unnecessary talk and forced laughter. I am currently drafting a formal letter to the station management to demand a change. Call the feedback line at 97.1 today and let them know you want pure play by play coverage.

The momentum behind this petition proves that Tigers fans are tired of the current state of our broadcast booth. Take this link to Facebook and tag the station directly to show them we need a change. Keep pushing until they pay attention to the feedback from the people who actually listen to these games.

I know he's older now, but he's been bad for many many years. I agree that he doesn't bring anything to the broadcast and I turn it off when I hear his voice or some of his inane colloquialisms

Color commentator requires colorful language, not simply having played the game years ago.
