Remove Irish Cancer society Advert - "I want to get Cancer"

I join this group in asking to have the present advertising removed, as it is offensive.

This is a terrible campaign. I would like to see those ads removed from bill oards anx bus stops eyc.

I find the add very ovensive and insensitive. Of course I get the concept of wat it means. But I lost my bother 3 mts ago after a constant 4an half yr battle. He was only 29. I will not be supporting Ics again and supporting more local cancer charities. I wud not even dream of sayin "those words" in ur add EVER! It's ridiculous! Complete waste of funds and an insult to people who have lost a loved one!

I believe it would be difficult to find anyone in this country who did not fall into one of the following categoreis Is currently being treated for cancer knows somone wh is being treated for cancer is in remission from cancer Knows someone who is in remission from cancer Has a family member or friend or acquaintance who has lost ther battle with cancer. Most people could name people in more than one of the above categories. So who exactly is "being made aware of cancer"? As someone who has fundraised for cancer for years I am hughly dissapointed at this insensative and wastefull use of funds. If you want to raise awarness then design a capaign to identify the signs of rare cancers theones that are often missed.

I can't believe the ics are being so obnoxious about this. They have been told the effect the ad is having on sufferers and their families, that should be the end of it.

I think ICS was being too clever by far with this twisted advert, a total waste of valuable funds. Admit that it has failed and remove it immediately.

There are better ways to get the message out there than to upset and distress those who have been devastated by a cancer diagnosis or death. Having been diagnosed myself in 2014, I struggle at times to stay positive and to have an "onwards and upwards" approach. This campaign certainly doesn't help. Surely something more uplifting would still raise awareness while lifting people's spirits and giving them hope.

I think this is a terrible add with absolutely no understanding of what a diagnosis of cancer means....it's horrific mind blowing and absolutely devastating....this add is totally insensitive cruel with no empathy or understanding of what actually is behind the words "Get Cancer"

For anyone battling cancer and their families watching what they are going through this ad must be absolutely beyond heartbreaking.

Yesterday we buried my 36 yr old cousin who died from secondaries from breast cancer she had 3 small children how in God's name does this advert explain things to them..I've also been one of the lucky ones to have beaten breast cancer tg please explain it to me as an adult. This advert is a pure insult & I'm sick to the pit of my stomach every time I see it..I hope to God this petition works may Elliott rest in peace x

I have already written to the Irish Cancer Society giving them my opinion of their insensitive ad.

As a former cancer patient I find this campaign grossly offensive. There is not a family in the country untouched by cancer so I cannot understand who this is trying to raise awareness with.
