Many Shirlington merchants & residents are disturbed about the daily presence of the unattractive white truck selling clothing on the street. Sheyla's Boutique illegally parks on Campbell Ave everyday taking valuable parking spaces from our customers. The police have been called many times with little result. Federal Realty has no jurisdiction on the street.

We all pay significant rent to offer our goods & services to people who shop and dine in Shirlington. Seeing those customers seeking parking to patronize our establishments while a truck owner pays nothing, takes sometimes two spaces without paying for them, engages our customers, distracts security ( who run errands for that owner), and presents an eye sore in the Village is not something most of us are willing to tolerate further without objection.

Our best option to attempt permanent removal of this illegal intruder is to take a petition to the Shirlington Civic Assn. We hope you will sign our petition. I will personally take it to the next Civic Assn meeting and will keep you apprised of and progress.

I appreciate your support.

P.S. ignore the request for money at the end, we are not collecting money. This is a design feature that could not be removed.

I come to Shirlington at least once a week and have been frustrated more than once looking for parking while this truck takes 2 spaces. It is not right. Why happens if other truck owners decide they can do the same thing? Where will it stop?

As the owner of Hula Girl Bar and Grill in the Village - I am frustrated that this truck is constantly parked in front of our businesses. I know that may be ironic since I started my business from a food truck - but, as a responsible owner I never parked our truck in front of businesses. I fought for the rights of truck owners to have a say in vending - this woman is not respectful of our business and it is time that she moves on. SO many of our customers have had issues with finding parking - especially on the weekends..Arlington really needs to ban trucks from Campbell Ave - it is too dense with similar business that pay a pretty price to be there.

Could not agree more, she makes Shirlington Village look like a flea market. Diminishes value-perception for all tenants and she constantly parks illegally (both out of the legal zone and often all day long!)

I had to watch an old lady struggle to find parking while this truck had been there for hours....NOT FAIR!!!

Yes, we along with others have been inconvienced by this non-permit illegal practice. This should not be allowed. Patrons will go elsewhere. Make the vendor buy a storefront and become part of the community like everyone else.

While it's commendable that someone is trying to earn a living, the playing field should be the same for all of us. Perhaps at a minimum, this business should have to follow the rules of food trucks and move after a period of time.

I hope trucks like this are banned from Shirlington and surrounding neighborhoods. As a homeowner in Shirlington it is rather disturbing to see Sheyla's truck hogging precious street parking as well as trucks such as this one, food trucks, and unmarked trucks and work vehicles parked on the streets and surrounding Shirlington neighborhoods. If Sheyla's is that interested in selling their wares, then they can rent one of the vacant storefronts like everyone else. If Sheyla's wants to be part of the Shirlington community she can pay rent rather than at like a parasite in our community.

Not fair to everyone else.
