i've struggled with anorexia Nervosa for the past year. An assignment given in Health class were we had to track our daily intake using "My Fitness Pal" triggered my Ed. We had to use the app to figure out maintenance calories, fats, carbs, and proteins, and how many of each we needed for our age and height. We then had to track our daily intake using the app and had to compare what we eat to what we should eat. This assignment puts students of both genders at risk of Eating disorder habits and tendencies. My Fitness Pal is well known to be the main calorie tracker in the eating disorder community & can be very toxic. Please sign this petition to help me get this assignment removed from my schools curriculum and hopefully others

Updates

January 22, 2016

The administration has acknowledged the volume of this response and agreed to a formal meeting to discuss the current health curriculum. I am currently drafting a detailed summary of the concerns raised to present during that session. Expect a follow-up report once we have received a response to our proposed changes.

I had to do this same project for my health class in 9th grade right when my Ed was starting. It was torture.

It is embarrassing if people are aware of one's mental illness.
