Body image is an important issue that can affect anyone anywhere. Body image is important because it is the way we see ourselves influences every aspect of our lives: our mental health, our physical health, how we take care of ourselves, how we interact with and relate to other people. People suffering from eating disorders often have negative or distorted views of themselves, their bodies, and their appearance. However, a person with a healthy body image has an objective, undistorted view of their body and appearance. They do not spend a large amount of time checking their body or perceived flaws, or comparing themselves to others. Sign this petition in which I will send to the Ministry of Education in hopes to add this issue as part of the curriculum so students are addressed about this issue before it impacts them.
THIS IS A GR8 CAMPAIGN. My young cousin is so badly influenced by media which convinces her to be happy she needs to be skinny. Like she always says, "I want to be Barbie". If the schools were to teach her how media negatively impacts us and shows her she is beauty just the way she is, she would learn better instead of going through many struggles some of us do.
