Question. So you work for a company that in early years of development kind of thrived. Never really became the top provider of a product or top in client satisfaction but was serviceable. Then....that company really just started to tank. Just really rested on those past laurels from the early moderate success. Would you think the CEO has a grip on where the company should be heading? Would you blame the employees for not doing enough for the CEO? Would you say that well once the employee has to move on to another company they have learned how to be successful? Stop with the "if you want a man they have to go through major major disappointment and still respect the leader that is putting them through the disappoinment". Stop blaming kids for a man's failures as a leader as a HC and AD. You're only defending mediocrity of a man and blaming it on children. Shame on you

We aren't idiots. This "man" has shown time and time again that he likes to take his moods and unprofessional behavior out on teenage kids that he feels he can push around. We are protecting our kids. Awww is Coach upset he can't get a list of kids to bully? how pathetic.

First of all , the ADULTS who generated this petition are on the same level of rioters and looters that are dividing our country . Let me tell you a story , I was playing Baseball at ECU back in 1988. I called my father , DAVID A. THOMAS, and said " Dad the coach is not giving me a fair chance to be a starter". He said " Son , you ought to be glad you can walk, you know there are lots of people in wheelchairs", " stop complaining and earn the starting position". I am so THANKFUL he TAUGHT me that valuable lesson of not pointing fingers and playing the blame game. Now look what you ADULTS are teaching your teenagers with this petition . It goes something like this : Son, throughout your life you are going to run into obstacles that are not fair . When this happens, you should quit or blame your boss . Better yet , be a coward and run from your own mistakes . If you are failing your Math class it is ABSOLUTELY your teacher's fault . You are perfect son , and when you have a problem lets set up an internet petition to get rid of the PERSON who is actually trying to help you . Don't worry about being a man and talking to him face to face/one on one . Lets do it online so we can hide . Seriously , that is what you are teaching your 17 year old son who will possibly carry these habits for a lifetime . Sadly , possibly become that "guy" who is always complaining and miserable because of the lack of LEADERSHIP at HOME . Thank you very much, John C. Thomas

This is EXTREMELY sad, to say the least. As a former collegiate athlete myself, I think it is incredibly incompetent and shows a major lack of athletic knowledge (common sense, really) to want to get rid of the winningest coach in school history. If you want your child to be coached by someone that gives zero constructive criticism and gives out participation awards, maybe YOU should go somewhere else (not to mention, good luck to your child in LIFE). Coach Thomas is a man of incredible integrity, and prides himself on instilling work ethic and values in his student-athletes that they can carry with them long after high school....because guess what? NEWS FLASH! Your child MOST likely will not be playing professional sports, and is going to need to learn how to handle losses and failure to succeed in life. Good luck finding anyone better than Coach Thomas! He is amazing, and Choctaw is LUCKY to have him.

Most of the people coming on him to defend him are relatives. Figures.

He...is...resting....on...his....laurels and not developing these young men the way they should be developed. "Getting after" a football player is motivation. But certain coaches only do it to the kids they can get away with doing it to. He's not built for this game anymore and he's just riding that coach and AD title for that sweet sweet paycheck. Stop with the kids are young excuse. Has he only had freshman on the team the last 5 years?

So let me get this straight....Greg Thomas has won the most games in school history! Most all the people that have commented have never coached a day in your life........so you think you could do better??? You people make me sick! Greg is a great coach, dad, husband. You guys talk about why some football players don’t get scholarships........we’ll there might be a player better in a other state. You guys think that Florida is the only state that plays football. Go to Alabama, South Carolina, Ohio........you want some come get some! It is a shame that this is even going on! Most of you don’t know the sacrifices coaches make......we put players first. Sacrifice our family time, holidays, vacations etc! You people make me sick. You are selfish, incompetent, stupid......this is he’s life......you want to take that away????? Disgusting!

Coach Thomas is a great leader and the winningest coach at Choctaw! He has a deep passion for the game, tremendous love for his players and has dedicated his life to help mold young people into better athletes and young adults! Choctaw would not only be loosing a great Coach but also a leader with strong morals, expectations and the knowledge to not only teach the game of football but to also teach the game of life!!
