Remove Chechnya chapter from The Camarilla (sourcebook)

I wish I could discribe the level of disgust I feel. This is a needless chapter that dehumanize the suffering of people who have been systematically slaughtered.

I tought they had learned something after WoD: Gypsies. It seems it wasn't the case.

Minorities do not exist just so you can have a hip "victim in the refrigerator" moment. Real people, and their plights, do not exist just so you can make a quick buck. What the hell is wrong with you? How do you sleep at night? Is all that privilege really so comforting?

As a mental health professional and a gamer I believe that this minimizing portrayal of the very real dangers LGBT people face is harmful.

This is a silly, "edgy," step back. On the face of it, it's Deep Roleplaying, Not Being Afraid to Confront the Heavy Subjects; in fact it's the opposite, sophomoric and trivializing.

I am a huge fan of the WOD as a whole- even with its already existant imperfections, but we cannot in this difficult time utilize the plights of humanity and the horrors of humanity as something to be handwaved by vampires in an entertainment commodity. A more tasteful approach could have even been the vampires simply capitalizeing on the -truth-, the human-horror truth, of whats going on in Chechnya and I truely dont understand how the current writers arent able to approach their new content with more tact. You can still touch on the sins of humanity without making light of them. Please. Remove this chapter as currently written.

It's in terrible taste. To see what good taste looks like, go look at the foreword in New York By Night, which came out shortly after 9/11

going back to edgy stuff that tweens in their garage do is not worthy of the million dollar worth ip handled by people who have internet and plenty of resources to hire knowledgeable people to treat these subjects respectfully.

At the very least this chapter needs to be revised. There is a way to bring the horrors of the real world into light, but this is not the way. You promised to be better. This isn’t better.

This is horrible and should be taken out ASAP

This is no different then if denied any other genocide in recent human history, a far change from the game line that took a hard stance on removing supernatural elements from real world tragedies.

Disgusting

This is just bad form, and harkenss back to the WoD Gypsy book and the liberties taken to gloss over the facts and legends of the Romani to fit the needs to make a product.

DO BETTER.

This is disgusting.

The actual systematic oppression of queer people in Chechnya should not be used as set dressing to establish the villainy of a vampiric regime. I understand that the setting takes it seriously and presents it as evil. That's not the issue. The issue is "enriching" a roleplaying setting by stating that pretend monsters are the ones responsible for real-world violent acts of hatred against marginalized groups of real, actual people.
