Events like this proove voting is a waste of a time. We elect our leaders to represent the people but they cave and cower to the demands of a small but loud mob. Remove all Civil War monuments.

I see no issues with this monument as to show any Racial prejudice but just to show respect to the men on Southeast Missouri who Made their own choice to stand up for what they believed in at their time.

Leave all historical monuments and statues alone. Council you do know that giving into their demands to remove these historical pieces will still not satisfy them. Council, you remind me of the wild west. Where the bad guys come to town and they shoot at your feet to see how long you will dance to their demands before they kill you. They will NEVER be satisfied. So Get some back bone and remember you work for WE THE PEOPLE. You have no right to make decisions without putting it up for a vote. Let WE THE PEOPLE SPEAK

Destroying the symbols of the US history is not helping anyone, if anything it is going to cause history to repeat itself. If all confederate statues and symbols are removed, then the Union soldiers were not doing anything and should not be recognized. If one is removed, all should be removed. However, the people that are removing the confederate statues are the main cause for this uproar in my opinion. They are supporting riots and this will never end.

If we will not recognize one side of the war that has shaped this country then we do not need to recognize the other as well. Either they both stand to remind us of what we have endured and how far we have come or they can both be removed to symbolize the equality that they are screaming for.

As a lifelong southeast Missourian and descendant of two southeast Missouri confederate veterans I am disappointed that the City of cape would choose to choose to sensor one particular part of our history. Rather than being fair and displaying ALL of our areas history. So if one should go they all should.

If one side of the Civil War “Objects of Remembrance” have to come down, then both sides should come down.

What's good for the goose is good for the gander, right? Every time I drive by this statue of Union troops it gives me PTSD and I lose out from interacting with others and it affects my work

Please read the Missouri Ordinance of Secession. You will learn how brutal the US government was with how they treat Missouri.

Stop them from trying to erase Americas history. They want to remove the past to make the present look worse. This must stop.
