We once had a horse that got his legs badly cut with barbed wire which took absolutely months to heal and was a good job for insurance that covered the vet fees, but it could have easily been avoided if a proper fence in the farmers field had been put up, so what chance does a dog have, should be banned !!!

Highly dangerous, outmoded fencing which has no place in any environment let alone here.

Stock fencing would be far safer and better at keeping animals in or out!

This is highly dangerous for little children and dogs in such a public place. Also it's a lot on the landscape in such a scenic area.

This fence is terrible, it wi so dangerous, not only to dogs, but to wildlife such as deer and badgers. When the grass grows up in summer, the barbed wire will be obscured, so owners of dogs may not even see the danger. Could normal stock fencing not be used in place of the barbed wire?

Ugly and potentially dangerous to animals once spring growth gets going. Lower 2 strands of barbed wire need changing at the very least.

A wooden fence or even just wire instead of barbed wire should be adequate,

Surely it would not cost much to replace the barbed wire with ordinary wire. Perhaps we could offer to share the cost with whoever owns the land.
If that offer was rejected, it might enhance the chance of success of any future claim of injury brought against the owner or his insurers.

Please replace the barbed wire with the squared wire, the wire you have chosen to use around the fields immediately around your house.

Absolutely criminal that this Barbwire fence has been allowed to remain. West Sussex county council are being negligent of their responsibility to the residents and users of this footpath/public right-of-way. As the year progresses the vegetation will grow around this and it will cover/high the lower levels of Barbwire making it even more of a risk for dog owners and their dogs. Equally although not a parent I would suggest little children will be at risk. How will the county councillors who are putting their 'heads in the sand' on this issue feel when someone gets seriously injured.

The first time I saw this fence I thought how unsightly, unnecessary and dangerous it was. There are better options to keep dogs/people out. It should be replaced.
so dangerous for any animal !!
