Remove Barbed Wire from Prinsted Bay

I was shocked to see the barbed wire. It is dangerous to dogs, children and to anybody who could stumble into it.

I'm signing this as it's a danger to all.

Particularly ugly and menacing alongside a pleasant coastal walk.

As this unattractive and dangerous fence contravenes the Highway Act 1980 Sec 164 I would urges WSCC to act to have it removed.

It is potentially very dangerous - and why is it necessary?

This is far more dangerous to dogs as, due to the sloped angle the middle wire is lower than a normal fence and will catch the back of most average to larger build breeds. Who knows what they were thinking when they carried out the risk assessment?!

Get rid of this dangerous eyesore

I would suggest that this is very much a liability for the Landowner. Should a claim be brought against them in the event of an accident or injury, it really would be indefensible and potentially, very costly. Please replace with a traditional post and rail if you must have a fence...

This wire is very dangerous both to dogs and children, I have seen dogs running under neath it, it is not stopping them! at the very least could it not be replaced with ordinary wire?

Please replace this awful fencing, if necessary, with something more suitable to the environment.

I can understand why someone would want to stop people walking along the private land below the coastal path but this could have been achieved with a normal wire fence or stock fencing. This fence wouldn't have been out of place in Normandy on D-Day. I'm very concerned my dog is going to hurt herself badly on this and god forbid a person trips on the bottom strand and ends up tangled on the barbed wire. Please replace this with something safer and more sensible - as far as I'm aware, we aren't due to be invaded from Chichester Harbour anytime soon...

I have lived in Nutbourne just near this path for 37 years. There is no need for a sloping fence here. If the landowners need a fence a straightforward post and rail fence would achieve their goals. The sloping angle of this barbed wire fence is dangerous particularly to small children and the elderly. I very much doubt the landowner's household insurance will cover them against damage claims.

I regularly walk along here. It's an eyesore and dangerous.
