I frequently walk here, and I fear that my toddler may stumble into this and severely injure himself. A ridiculous, unnecessary hazard which needs to be removed.

Why is this fence here? It protcts nothing. Below it is a track that, having walked here for the past seven years, I have only ever seen one vehicle belonging to the men who built the fence. This fence is hideous and a danger to dogs. Presumably the new landowner is showing how important he is? Why protect a muddy track from trespassers? And who wants to walk on the track anyway?

On a recent walk I could not believe this hideous fence. Apart from looking horrible, I can see no reason for the peculiar construction. Why not a straightforward fence? Hoping this petition forces WSCC to ask for its removal.

Replace with ordinary fencing....no right nor decent to endanger dogs or children.
Shame on the perpetrator!

The lowest strand is dangerous, particularly as the grass and brush on the bank grows and will obscure it.

A danger to dogs and small children. Will be hidden in long grass during the summer just adding to the risks.

Have the land owners given a reason for the fence, if not , it serves no purpose and is a real danger and ugly.

a wholly unsafe and unncessary fence that should not be allowed to remain

I do not see why this needs to be a barb-wire fence ,let alone one at such a dangerous angle. once the grass grows up the lower layer of barbed-wire will be completely hidden & very dangerous for dogs & toddlers.

Why is barbed wire needed there as no farm animals come up to that point?

Totally thoughtless act in erecting this fence. Plenty of safer options. What a brainless act.

I totally agree this fence is a dangerous hazard to adults, children, dogs etc. I use this route several times a week with my dog and children and feel extremely uncomfortable walking next to this fence of ‘lethal’ barbed wire.

If this fence contravenes the highway act, how can it possibly be allowed to remain, apart from that, it looks awful!
