Enough with taxing the little guys. What am I supposed to know where every school in NY is? Stop telling us it's for the kids. It's for the coffers.

This is nothing more than another tax of the residents of Nassau county. How many children/people were hit by cars in front of schools on the past 10 years? I haven't heard of any. If this was an ongoing problem, I would understand but it is not. The politicians need to wake up and get to the root cause of the problem which is the school taxes.

there is NO reason for these cameras other than GREED

Now cars are going 20 mph at all times in fear of tickets. Causing more harm than good. Needed the flashing warning lights. Disaster waiting to happen!

It's a backdoor tax that does more harm than good.

This is just a way for Nassau County to gain additional revenue from already over taxed residents.

If these cameras were about safety they would be in the budget as an expense not income. Thus is insulting.

Simply an easy revenue generator. NOTHING to do with safety.

Time to change, but not this kind.

Budgeting with monies generated by a system which if successful in reducing speeding in school zones will not continue generate monies. It appears to simply be a means used by the county legislature to avoid a tax increase or budgeted reductions to balance the budget. But they avoid a hard decision hiding behind an undocumented safety problem in school zones

i paid the first $80 although I was not aware at the time of the new zoning and was driving under the prior posted 40 MPH. Four days later in a loaner car, I got another ticket again at the same speed and in the same place but I hadn't received the first ticket yet and still was not aware of the cameras. Now people come from 40 MPH just before the overpass to a sudden decrease to 25 MPH...sooner or later there will be an accident; this scamera does NOTHING for the safety of the children. I want my $80 back and I ain't paying the second ticket.
