These cameras constitute a highly annoying tax increase. The politicians sanctimoniously talk about how it is about child safety, but we all know it is about raising money for the county coffers. I was ticketed for going 31 mph passed a school at 5:37 pm, a time when school has been over for at least two hours. Drivers going 31 mph and paying attention are not a danger to kids. Cars go down my residential block 50-60 mph and blow through the stop signs, but no one gives them tickets because it would take an actual officer to do that. These cameras need to go. There is no recourse to fight when a machine gives you a ticket and you get it in the mail two weeks later.

I believe these cameras to be all about revenue; I am furious that the politicians that voted for these camera are the very same politicians that have recieved donations from ATS. This is a money grab...The most important thing in the world to me is the safety of every single child...Shame on Nassau County politicians for pretending to care about the children...If the county needs money raise the taxes that is at least honest..

Not only does this policy rip off the average person, but I find that people are going so slow that it is bound to call rear end accidents.

too many un marked areas, too much concern with looking for obscure signs and checking my speedometer instead of watcvhing the road to actually see if children are crossing at the wrong places, like the middle of the road. too high a price for these tickets. This will stop me from shopping in Hempstead in particular where I got two tickets.
