UC Removal of Principal Hagstrom from Walt Disney School

i interviewed here and she said she was going to get back to me and never did

I went to Disney growing up. I never really faced any problems with Hagstrom personally but I've heard of and seen her belittling and elitist behavior up front. She needs to go and is a representation of everything wrong with both the United States and its school system.

With all due respect to this petiton's naysayers, such as Mr. Pelegrino, our chief engineer, I am a teacher at Disney and the allegations in this petition are accurate. Of course many comments here are from students and are therefore somewhat inaccurate or ridiculous or vulgar, but don't let that distract from the clear evidence that the majority of teachers at Disney are fed up with Principal Hagstrom. Her ideas on how to manage a school are outdated. The way she speaks to parents and children is disrespectful at best and racist at worst. If you are reading this and are a parent or other stakeholder in the school, please attend the LSC meeting this coming Monday. Principal Hagstrom will not give up without a fight and we teachers need all the support we can get because most of us are afraid to speak out.

What’s the best for students and school I support it.

Not a parent or associated with the Disney program... i read the concerns raised in this petition..this principal has no business in her position.. Her behavior is racist and not conducive for a public institution..She must be removed today..

I've seen students jump, when she approaches and her intention's were to only say hello. I personally had an incident where she wanted to yell at me for waiting to close for my student after school. When I explained that I was waiting for the bussers to pass (as not to get yelled at for cutting through the exiting busser line). Then go inside and pick up my 2nd & 4th grader. She looked angry I was doing what I was supposed to and stopped the bussers to let me through.

This is so sad - this is the norm in CPS principals. Years ago I went through the interview process - about halfway through the third interview a voice inside my head said you better run - she couldn’t accept that I didn’t accept the offer she extended. Spend some time with her and you can tell all this and more is true

I am not a fan, but that is not true. She is at every performance and graduation.

I am Disney alumni. I don’t want to ruin my reputation so I will stay anonymous. I agree with all students and teachers. Wish you the best of luck.

As A fair and balanced minded employee at the school I need to push bad on the falsehoods being told. There are no Rats or bug infestations, the food is selected by the board, the school is clean and monitored monthly by CPS. Speak truths and stop deleting any comments that may no agree with your rhetoric plain and simple let both sides be heard. I dont always agree 100% of the time with her, but can grantee no one is a bigger Advocate for This school. One of the best in the city of Chicago. All state of the art equipment and teaching. Who made that happen? Dr. Hagstrom

Wow I got depressed off of her. She is so mean to her workers like Jesus! Can she be a better behaved woman?

I believe that she doesn’t treat the students with respect but she dose not give us problems on a regular basis. Some rules and regulations don’t equal out with others. That definitely should be a fix!

I was surprised it took this long for teachers and parents to stand up to her! I transferred my son last year, but between him and my daughter I spent 12 years at Disney. Each passing year it was getting worse and worse. She is one everything I don’t want my children to be!

I need as much evidence as I can to bring this issue to the forefront. Your time is much appreciated.

I don'scare how many signatures there are SHE HAS TO LEAVE THE SCHOOL so the new kids can have a better education

She has been nothing but a nightmare to my family! I’ve prayed and cried about this so much because I worked so hard to provide my kids with a good education but Dr. Hagstrom has no regard for our kids, their education and she operates like she has no moral barometer. She’s racist, and she’s been trying to bully my family and we’ve been standing strong against her and those who allow her to intimidate them. I’m looking forward to the day when she’s removed!

One of her staff members, Mrs. Moore-Taylor, grabbed a little boy and slammed him into the wall. The parent came up to the school with the police and Dr. Hagstrom was made aware of the infraction and was required by law to file a report with DCFS against that administrator, but never did. She’s racist, and she picks and chooses who she wants to toy with. It’s quite sad.

I must say that I’ve been praying for this day! I knew in my heart that I couldn’t have been the only parent experiencing this maltreatment! Dr. HAGSTROM is a bully, and she uses intimidating tactics to push her agenda. The teachers and staff that go along with it are afraid to lose their jobs. She’s filed false complaints with DCFS against me, harassed me and my child, illegally held us in the school when we weren’t supposed to be. Calling police on a seven year old child. Refusing to allow me to pick up my child saying that he’s not there. She’s manipulative and will go to extreme measures to achieve her goal. I’ve heard stories of parents whose kids are out of Disney now, saying that school broke their child and their confidence. I can go on and on about the experience that I’ve had with her and her goons and it’s completely unacceptable! I’m not stopping until she is removed!!!
