UC Removal of Principal Hagstrom from Walt Disney School

Shameful! My friends’ children went there and she’s appalled. Transferred her kids out of there.

I Don’t Support Racism One Bit.

Principal Kathleen Hagstrom is disrespectful to the Disney community. And it seem that she takes our students education as a joke.I say that the staff and our community to take a stand!

Worst principal ever! My family and I have witnessed and had discriminatory run ins wit “Dr.” Hagstrom many times. Her behavior I’d ridiculously embarrassing, intimidating, humiliating, belittling, aggressive, rude, discriminating, classist etc. She has tried all attempts to have my son drugged and in misplaced classrooms where she “throws away” students who may have difficulties and may pose a “threat” to Disney’s scores to going down. Horrible inhuman military type tactics. Ive had to rebuild children’s self esteem after her yelling at them! Horrible person with even more horrible practices. Oh I have many stories, many horrible memories. Can’t wait to share!

Kathy Hagstrom is and always was unqualified to be principal of Disney. She has destroyed all of the unique ideas and concepts that Disney was designed to implement. It's a tragedy for the students & teachers that she has been allowed to practice her sick version of education.

For the person who claims they do not see what is happening how dare you discredit what these more than qualified educators and some of the students have and continue to experience. If you are one of the privileged individuals of course you do not see what these people have previously and continue to experience. I support these individuals for speaking out! No one should have to work or have to learn in such a toxic and racist environment. I hope this petition is taken to the media and to the Disney family. Our children are our future. This woman must be removed.

just some more stupid stuff: - yells at students who are just a little out of line - when it’s dismissal and you are outside, she yells at you for talking - takes action on dumb stuff, such as phones, but not bullying or harassment - only one colored teacher, the rest are janitors, security guards, and bus drivers - doesn’t care about how unsanitary the school is (there are rats and a lot of bugs) - usually doesn’t attend graduations or CAC shows (practically just plays’) - food is low quality

I would probably still be teaching if it wasn’t for her

My grandson's very traumatic experiences with a Preschool teacher (Mrs. Cervantes) as well as, the Disney "Culture " (perpetuated by Dr. Hagstrom), are the reasons why I chose to have him continue his education at a different CPS School.

I need as much evidence as I can to bring this issue to the forefront. Your time is much appreciated.

I had a terrible experience with both Principles.

I read the petition and understand the grievances, however do not see any of this presently in existence at Disney. The comments are often false and not from anyone at the school, but often come from outside sources and hearsay. To see these false comments make me disappointed in the ethical standing of those making these allegations.

As a former employee I couldn’t agree more! It’s about time! The anxiety and stress she puts on her employees is sickening. She is vindictive and manipulating. She does not put students first!

My kids has only been in Disney for a year now and I’m not a huge fan of the “principal ” the assistant principal seem more so in charge then she is she never attended any of the student musical they put on nor was she at graduation ion believe as principal you’re supposed to be there for your students and show them how very proud you are I’ve always noticed how some of the staff and parents tenses up Whenever she comes around !! Something needs to be done ASAP or I’m pulling my kids out and putting them into a much better and comfortable environment school that they can enjoy being a 1st grader at and not have to walk on egg shells or pins and needles whenever she comes around never have I ever experienced anything like this growing up while being in Cps school district

Now is the time to establish what we as a community will continue to tolerate. The only way to stop a bully is to stand up. We fear no one that wants to hurt our community. STAND STRONG!

I always had a bad feeling about Dr Hagstrom during my time as a Disney student. Hearing about her unacceptable behavior disgusts me. I hope you guys get her out!

Some of the allegations in this petition were evident 15 years ago when I was placed at Disney as a clinician under Dr. Hagstrom’s leadership. The ways in which I observed Dr. Hagstrom interact with families, students, and staff were at best, unprofessional. At the end of the school year, I asked for a change in placement. Members of the Disney community have Local School Council members elected to represent you. Those elected members of parents, teachers, staff, and community members complete an evaluation of Dr. Hagstrom’s performance each year. Is your voice represented? Attend a meeting, read the meeting minutes (which must be made available to the community), reach out to your elected members, run for LSC in the spring of 2020.

She’s never shown any interest in this job and is very racist towards black people. Also, she threatens transportation services to not transport at the school
