UC Removal of Principal Hagstrom from Walt Disney School

My two sons attended till 3rd and 5th grade. We pulled them out. She was a dictator.

Horrible women

Unnecessarily strict and dramatic

There is NO room for this type of behavior, especially from an Educator & Authority figure. Her negative actions speaks Volume. She needs to be removed.

She is a dictator. She told me to pull my son out of the school. She told me my son does not belong to that school and l should look for a community public school on the south side. She pick on my son and painted him as a bad child in the face of her professional colleagues and non academic workers. I have to hire the service of a behavioral threapist to see if truly my son had a behavioral disorder. The therapist came and spent a week with my son in the class room and gave my son a clean bill. I have to pull my child from the school at the beginning of third grade because he was not being loved and this also affected his relationship with his class mates. My son was a very brilliant African American kid but at Disney his grade was so bad that I have to pull him out and his mum enrolled him at a private school. My son since he left Disney School has maintained a honor roll at the new school. He is now in the fifth grade. Hmnnmmm, what about other kids who may not have similiar opportunity that my son had at that time??? Who knows what has happened to other kids in similar situation??? Are we going to wait before this woman further destroyed the lives of promising Africa America and Latino America kids??? A stitch in time save nine. Yes, this principal is not only a racist but a bully. Please let us save our future generation from the hands of a destiny destroyer!!!!

My granddaughter has gone to Disney for 5 years. I have many complaints about Dr. Hagstrom. She, by her example, promotes a culture of mean spiritedness. She ignores all scientific research regarding the school experience for grammar school. She is a BULLY and it has trickled down like water to fill every aspect of the school experience.

Bullying no tolerated!! The school is for the children, not for her. She needs to go.

My nephew attends this school and is bullied/harassed by not only students but TEACHERS as well. We have spoken to the principal and others, but nothing is done. They suggested we transfer him to another school

If any principal does not not do it’s job to protect our children or family members that go to that school then they need to be removed that is one of our greatest fears and concerns they r with our children most of the day if they can’t comply with parents and do what is needed of them then they such be removed bottom line!!!

No room for racism in CPS.

Shocking to hear the principal suggest students and faculty leave instead of creating an apparent hostile environment. Thoughts are with the students. CPS needs to do a thorough investigation out of fairness to the principal and the students.

I have delt with her for years. All three of my children graduated from there (2011, 2014, and 2018). She called DCFS on me 2 and the police. She is very ignorant and disrespectful especially to minorities. She should have been fired. I filed 2 complaints on her and CPS did nothing.

She did this to my neighbor's child who is African American. She kept pushing for him to go to Brennemann - which is one of the worst schools in district. He is in high school now and doing well. It's amazing that she has gotten away with this behavior for so long.

I graduated from this school in 2011, and remember her being extremely rude to me and my immigrant parents for (what I believed at the time) no reason. I remember one of my African American teacher (who no longer works there) receiving a Christmas gift from her from the brand ‘Monkey and a Noose’. She needs to be removed, enough is enough!!!

The fact that it took so long for parents and students (and even community and partners) to be able to get their voices heard speaks to the fear and influence Dr. Hagstrom had over people. She ran Disney like a prison, maybe even worse. It was not a fun experience for anyone. After school kids are told to leave the grounds immediately or they will charged with loitering. For years we would raise funds to replace A dated playground but she would always divert the funds to something else. When the playground was finally replaced, she did not allow kids to use it!!! Both my kids flew under the radar there but could not handle the mental stress the principal put on everyone and both ended up leaving, for the better. This has been a long time coming and I’m glad that people have found a safe place to voice their concern and take action against Dr. Hagstrom.

It’s misfortune how students, families, and staff have been inflicted. With this petition hopefully goals collectively can be recollected on a more positive affirmation.

Supporting those who have been bullied by someone who should've been a roll model.
