I volunteered in my children’s classrooms for several years and witnessed first hand her erratic and frightening behavior. It came to the point where my husband and I decided to move our children to Waters which is our neighborhood school. It was one of the best decisions we ever made. Waters is a creative and nurturing school unlike the emotional and verbal abuse all faced at Disney. I hope Ms. Hagstrom finds the mental health assistance she so desperately needs.

I completely agree with the removal of hagstrom from Disney. She treated my son like a criminal and even refused to let him graduate on stage for something so minor. Instead of helping our family she attacked my parenting skills and belittled our family. I will never forget how I felt after meeting with her at conferences. She does not have the students interest in mind.

Dr. H hired me for my first teaching job and gave me lots of opportunities for which I’ll always be grateful. However, I’m a person of privilege that can’t ignore how she treats other people. I’m signing for all the students, parents, and teachers that deserve a principal who respects everyone equally.

This petition fails to note, in addition to open racism, Hagstrom's blatant agism and ableism. When working there I was told to dye my hair (grey) and staff members suggested I remove my glasses when speaking to her, as she saw it as a sign of weakness. She lied to me about my position to exploit free labor. During my time there I saw mistreatment on so many levels. Admin, staff, students. Disney fosters an atmosphere of bullying from the top down. It is abhorrent and soul sucking. I nearly quit teaching after working there for one year. I hope that enough people come forward so that justice can be served, but she (and other admin) have created a culture of fear.

I’m disgusted at the fact that someone who has been charged with the care of so many people has continued to be held responsible.
I am sorry to my fellow educators. I hope she is dismissed immediately and never allowed to work in a school.

This lady is the reason I stopped teaching! I was dedicated and loved my job however after I would not go against my team of 4th grade teachers she “let me go”. Shortly after she slowly tore apart a group of 8 teachers that were there when Disney started and in my opinion some of the best teachers in Chicago.

I have family who will be attending soon and I don’t want a principal there who will make them feel as if they are outcast.

Dr, Hagstrom does not run a collaborative partnership school. She does not support students, staff, and families. She shuts them down and belittles them, and is extremely unprofessional. She is the sole reason our family decided to leave CPS. She refused to follow national, district, and state best practices in support of our student. She has to go!
