This principle sounds like she wants a certain type to teach and certain type to learn at that school. Definitely not a culturally aware administrator!

I have heard, from an award winning teacher who I deeply respect, that this principal is abusive and vindictive. I'm glad to see that staff and parents have found the courage to stand up to her.

As a teacher I seriously struggled with my choice to send my daughter to kindergarten there recently. The primary source of this concern was comments made by the principal during orientarion. Her views on discipline are simply outdated and uninformed. If the information given in this petition is accurate I support her removal from the position.

It's about time. I witnessed Dr. Hagstrom berate and belittle parents and students of color. She openly mocked an African American parent in the middle of the main office for using the word "expeditiously" in conversation, and spoke about the woman's son as if he were a criminal over something incredibly minor. Just one of many, many incidents. She needed to go a long time ago.

I'm impressed by this article and as a former employee experienced bullying from Dr. Hagstrom and her Assistant Principals causing me to take a medical leave of absence as I became physically ill.

I am a Disney alumni and it was the best school. Now my friend’s kids attend and what they have been telling me about the principal and her actions is inappropriate and not right. Parents, staff and students should not be afraid to go to Disney. The staff was awesome. Bullying isn’t allowed for students and it shouldn’t be allowed by anyone else especially a principal. Can’t trust the principal then who can you trust.

Dr. Hagstrom kicked children out of advanced class based on failing scores and stressed out children and their parents. She was rude to parents, children, and teachers. She forgot we parents (tax payers) pay her high salary. Time to put her in the suit of the Disney Mascot if she still wants to work at CPS.

Kids, their families, and their teachers deserve *so* much better than this. No one should ever be allowed to treat others - especially children - so poorly.
