Paul, there HAVE to be bigger issues at CAA that require the attention of the VP. You waded into the wrong topic at the absolute wrong time. First, the silly "combat ring" issue and now this. Why you choose to start FB fires within the ranks of the alumni you represent is baffling. Perhaps your energies can be better utilized at the county school board or county council level. Be advised that those constituents will be far less tolerant than Citadel alumni.

I believe Mr. Tamburrino overstepped his duties when he posted an appeal on a social Internet website on a very controversial subject. His wording in defending his position brought discredit to The Citadel and the alumni he represents. Whereas this issue could and should have been dealt with internally, it is now a state-wide, and likely will be consumed by the national debate that will follow. The institute will look bad, and that will cost money, time, and effort to redeem that which is lost.

Paul please stop being so soft and stick up for my school. I'm tired of having to sign and write about how u let everyone run on u and think cadets wearing heels in public is a great thing. It's soft... your too soft... I understand the position involves being popular w grads but go w the popular vote not the I think I'm right vote... talk to the grads that give back not just money but piece of mind get the concensus and quit listening to your gut... it's very soft....

It is embarrassing that such a man was able to rise to this position in the first place. If you have a problem with our school then leave. The administration is already ruining everything we hold dear to us. The Alumni Association should be protecting our traditions, not destroying them as well.

Thank you for your efforts, but 80% listening and 20% talking is a key characteristic of a great leader. I noticed a little too much talking, especially on personal beliefs at such a somber time.

Truly a bigger lack of judgement could not have been made by bringing up a divisive issue to push his personal politics before these people were not even buried. Time would have been better spent working in a way to help them not divide us.

Mr. Tamburrino has turned his position of CAA VP into one of a political platform. He has engaged in squabbles that seem reflective of his own personal agenda and not the collective alumni community. To preserve the memory of fallen alumni Confederate or otherwise should trump anyone's feelings about a flag. I'm not impugning Mr. Tamburrino's morality, but his ability to be an effective Vice President for an association whose main goals should be to preserve the ideals of the Citadel and be a voice for those who wear the ring.
