I find it appauling that Mr. Tamburrino freely chose to start a debate (not limited to Citadel alumni) during a time of such tragedy in Charleston. Rather than giving people an appropriate time to mourn, and truly putting others first, he felt the need to get his name out there first, before anyone else, on a sensitive social and political issue. Moreover, rather than utiliIzing his Chain of Command and letting this suggestion flow through the PRESIDENT of the CAA or the PRESIDENT of The Citadel, his constant need to be the center of attention and self ingratiation overpowered any sense of class, respect, and good judgement. He is derogatory toward others who disgree with him, as many have directly experienced... and all this from an 'HR Professional'. True leaders know when to take a step back, but not Paul. Wouldn't it have been more appropriate to bring members of the community together, in a peaceful and thoughtful manner? Instead, this is yet another example of his self serving and 'screw you' mentality. He used a cheap, opportunistic tactic to put his name out there and will hide behind the larger debate and support for the flag being removed from the Capitol. Paul should resign on his own, knowing the entire extent of his crass and demaning attitude, but don't hold your breath... he won't be satisifed until he has a permanent tribute to himself erected somewhere on campus. He doesn't love The Citadel because of what it is, he loves it because he thinks it's a recognizable reflection of himself. Just take a look at the name on the back of any one of his Citadel jerseys. Keep cheering yourself on, Paul.

although this is difficult to do, I sign this petition in the best interests of The Citadel and the Alumni Assoc. Paul is divisive, disrespectful to his brethren & the administration and appears to do everything out of how he can serve Paul; rather than our Alma Mater and Alumni.

Mr Tamburrino is an intolerant thug who does not respect any opinion other than his own and crudely attacks anyone who dares to oppose his views, including his own classmates. Sends threatening and abusive messages calling people "douchebags", "assholes" and "fucking pussies"; has even harassed the parents of alumni who questioned him, in one case threatened to complain to the employer of another alumni (his own classmate). On another occasion he showed up on campus drunk and carrying an illegal concealed firearm demanding to see a female cadet, when told she was restricted to barracks he became verbally abusive with several cadets and claimed to be "an ex special forces guy" and that "I have special privileges on this campus". Poor leadership of the absolute worst kind, not deserving of any position within our association.

Paul lacks professionalism when it comes to public and private affairs. Based on a personal dispute Paul and I had a private conversation which turned extremely heated - I felt he was making implied threats against my career by making statements about his connections at my employer and elsewhere. I feel like even mentioning knowing people at ones employer in such a way demonstrates unethical behavior that shouldn't be coming from someone who is supposed to be a representative of all alumni. Further, I feel that on the recent tragedy in Charleston Paul brought negative light on the Citadel. Right or wrong in his opinion, the negative publicity is something we, as cadets, swore to never bring to our school. Mr. Tamburrino VP of the CAA willfully used his position with the CAA as a platform with social media to criticize The Citadel's display of a confederate flag that hangs in the Summerall Chapel at The Citadel. When he was questioned by fellow alumni about how this social media had gone public and how this controversy had made its connection to The Citadel, he immediately denied making "a leak" to media and accused some other nameless alumni of this "dishonorable" conduct. However, days later Mr. Tamburrio back peddled and indirectly admitted that his previous statements were a false. He admits that it was he himself who made his social media postings public. His duplicity on the question of how the issue became public was fairly astounding. For days he stood by silent. He allowed others cast aspersions at fellow alumni as to who might have made offerings to the press. Later, following the exposure of Tamurrino's quibblings, he took no affirmative steps to apologize to anyone or to take corrective action. He has continued to make these social media remarks public and has continued his public criticisms as an officer of the CAA. Apparently he has some form of opportunist political campaign that hinges on linking the murder of 9 people to a confederate relic/ The Citadel. I join in a call for his removal from office. This school is becoming a conplete joke. From 2013 on, everyone you talk to about the citadel will laugh about it. It was once a prestigious school and an honor to attend. Paul Tamberino just adds to its demise. He, along with many others in the administration, make this school a JOKE. 10 years from now The citadel will be Clemson, but with Paul Tamberino still there, this school will reach that point faster. The citadel is meant to be challenging, not a place that accepts anyone with a pulse and enough money to pay tuition.

What kind of person uses a tragedy to push a personal agenda. He needs to go

Paul has chosen extremely poor timing to flaunt his arrogance and personal agenda and cause divisiveness among alumni. But what I find concerning is how he portrays his background and military experience. I happened to come across his LinkedIn profile and an interview he conducted with the Citadel (see link below). http://www.citadel.edu/root/krausecenter-service-learning/2014-veterans-interviews/paul-tamburrino Paul, quit claiming you served in the Army. You, in fact, served in the Army Reserves and National Guard. As a former Guardsman and aviator who served in Iraq, I appreciate your service, but there is a big difference between serving in the active and reserve component. I've always presented my military service as being in the Army Guard rather than the "Army." To say otherwise would not be the truth. This apparently doesn't matter to you. If you watch the first 10 minutes of the interview, Paul is quick to say that he "applied to the Citadel as a joke" and that he intended to go to the Air Force Academy. Apparently, the Academy "forced" him to major in engineering even before matriculation but because he wanted to choose a major more suitable to his goal of attending law school, he turned down his appointment. When his family wouldn't pay for Clemson, he settled for the Citadel. Amazing that the VP of the CAA, the voice of alumni, would admit this. Paul, rather than flaunt your academy appointment, you should have just gone to one. I also find it suspect that the Academy forced you to choose a major and as I'm sure you're aware: any major would get you into law school. Paul also says “The military is great if, number one, you always realize it’s a job. The main thing to do in the military is to get a trade. If you want to be in the infantry and run around with a rifle, you need to understand when you go back to the civilian world, that does not translate to a job.” The military is not a job, Paul, and its main purpose is not to get a

I'm sure his narcissism is loving every minute of this... If he truly loved The Citadel and cared about the Alumni, he wouldn’t rant and take advantage of a tragedy. Just imagine if this were Citadel related. How would he represent us? Is he really our voice or simply his own?
