Do you hear that? That's the the sweet sound of the lamentations of the enemies...uh...um...well, I was going to say women but I don't actually want to insult women. You didn't get the public lynching and validation you wanted from the ConCom, so now you're resorting to petty revenge against those that would dare to defy your brutish dictation. When you're ready to put back on your grown up undies, and join the rest of us at the adult's table, you will be welcomed with open arms. There is no need to cowardly stab someone from behind using the cover of anonymity, or to make up accusations or pass hearsay, these are are the acts of children.

Making baseless accusations without evidence is terrible behavior, especially when hidden behind anonymity. Sharing the same space with someone you vehemently disagree with is not inherently unsafe, it is called being an adult. Although some of us having been doing it since we were children, so there's that...

Oh boy, another accusation hidden behind anonymity without any evidence provided! Almost finished sharpening my pitchfork, or do we prefer them dull? I got a spanking hot deal on torches at Home Depot, is it BYOT?

Conventions should be safe spaces for fans. Not places for people to sexually harass others. ConCarolinas and it's attendees deserve better than these two.

I have never attended, but so long as it remains a convention that protects people who have a history of terrible behavior and who make the convention space unsafe, I would never attend.

I have not gone to the con in the past 3 years, because at first it was with family and I always worked with them and we all had fun. Then one year jada went off on me more times than I can count for reasons i still do not even understand 3 years later. I left that con crying and feeling exhausted. They also treat other people horribly like Ron, Frank and a few others, where they were forced to walk away. As for guns at con, I am just finding out about this, but for heavens sake... guns at con that's a real bright idea folks.....

Yes, the issue with communication was that you all wanted certain people silenced and excluded from something you think you own, then other people disagreed with that and the Con took their side. Now, as a direct result, you are mounting an ineffective campaign to boot those who won't let you have your way. Like children, you are throwing a tantrum.

In other words, you're a drama queen. Nor do you understand the actual nature of your adversaries.

A vague accusation from a random anonymous person? Wait right here while I go get my pitchfork and torch.

Freedom of association is freedom of association.
If you don't like a guest, or "don't feel safe", don't go. Demanding that your host rescind an invitation to another guest is the height of incivility and small-mindedness. If sufficiently many people feel the same way, your host may decide that they no longer wish to associate with the person whom you find so objectionable - that is their right, and the choice is their right and their prerogative.
You don't get to tell other people who they can associate with.

It's a shame it has come to this. So many people losing what they feel is their home Con, because the heads of the ConCom take any question or concern as a personal affront is quite off-putting.

I would never leave the house then if I were you. Also, since a lot of accidents happen at home, better confine yourself to just one room and never leave that spot. Turn off all outside communication as well, that way you can never hear anyone say anything that might upset your fragile state.

This is a disgrace. They need to go. I want to feel safe and free from harm.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

We all know exactly what this is really about, regardless of how you try to sugarcoat it. These people won't allow certain other people to bully and control the Con to their liking through intimidation tactics and lies, so they must get the boot because of their wrongthink.

Honestly, my only real gripe is the move from Embassy Suites to the Hilton. ES was nice, open, and of higher quality. Not only does the Hilton not flow well, has everyone noticed how the front desk staff stares and judges? Just move it somewhere else, anywhere else.

Honestly, y'all are just as bad as a bunch of book burners. Since we won't let you get away with your book fueled bonfires, you are just trying to go after their authors and any that don't fall in line with your tyrannical groupthink.... your numbers are much smaller than you think.
Well Karen definitely didn't get the reference.
