The inexcusable lack of responsibility of the colonel in doing her duty led to 3 days of uncontrolled looting and damaging of property. Leading to fear and trauma in the Penzance community.

No action/support given by Hour Bay SAPS when extreme violence was experienced in the Penzance neighbourhood on Monday day & evening.

We were petrified in our home on the day of the riots in Penzance. Efforts to get assistance from Hout Bay police were zero. No one appeared for hours whilst cars in our road were overturned, petrol bombs thrown, property vandalised. That day we had to run away from our home and possessions. We have been traumatised and on edge for days.
In the past we always believed if there was an emergency the police would be there to protect us. The most terrifying realisation is that we are actually on our own. When a riot is happening on your doorstep, police response the next day is totally useless and unacceptable.
Whoever is running the hout bay police station needs to please explain. In fact replacement is a far better option. How can we ever feel safe whilst this person is still in charge of our safety??

As a rent paying resident of Hout Bay living in Penzance I am appalled at the weak response the cops had to the violent protests outside IY that turned into racial attacks on us and our homes.
I demand competence from our police service.

My daughter and I had to lock ourselves into my bedroom as we could hear the unruly mob chanting and shouting right outside our home.

Not very impressed with the station commander at Hout Bay SAPS. What A statement to make "speak to your Mayor" it seems like slats statement I have heard before "it's not my job" I think it's time we have someone who will be more proactive.

Area around protests not secured. When looters arrived close to BP garage, police ran away, got into their cars and drove off (eye witness) allowing criminals to endanger lives of Penzance residents.

The Hout Bay station commander should be replaced immediately. Thanks to her negligence the entire Hout Bay has been put at risk. She is clearly incompetent

Hout Bay is an integrated community! We need a police force that reflects this and protects ALL citizens. I demand the removal of a station commander that chooses who to protect.

Yes definitely.
They did nothing to protect people in Penzance.

The riots on Monday have traumatized an entire community and the lack of police protection in Penzance was atrocious. Our rights were severely infringed upon!
