The Confederate Statue, the buildings around the square, in downtown Huntsville, and in the 3 historic districts, and the graves in Maple Hill Cemetery, are all on the National Registry of Historic Places. They are irreplaceable treasures which add beauty, interest and value to our community as well as honor our founders and ancestors. They must not be destroyed by an angry mob of political anarchists.

This is a piece of history and our heritage. Removing it shows ignorance, weakness, and fear.

It serves no useful purpose to spend all that money to remove that monument. My ancestors had it erected not to glorify the confederacy but to honor their fallen fathers and uncles. After all pensions were paid to the former confederates just as if they fought on the Federal side. These are my ancestors and I feel just a strongly about keeping this as the left that wants to remove it.

Making a stand for the Confederate monuments is a bulwerk against the Orwellian rewriting of our national history. Standing with Confederate monuments is standing for our nation.

Protect and preserve all monuments to all soldiers of all wars.
