In 1993 Congress passed a bill, later signed into law, that assured protection for "persons whose religious exercise is substantially burdened by government."As it stands, the Religious Freedom Restoration Act does not extend to actions of state governments.
With your help, we can request that the State of California adopt such a law, thereby protecting all people whose religious practice would otherwise be endangered by the whims of the state.
With the assembly of 1,000 signatures, we can take this to the California State Legislature and demand they listen to the voice of the people and protect the unalienable right of Freedom of Religion.
About time. California needs to stop overstepping and respect peoples rights to practice their faith without being harassed by the government.
