We went to church in Leadville on Sunday nights and could see the cross as we came up hill on the way home. Very special memory!

Please light the cross. Seems to me the complainers could find something to worry about. If they don't like it, don't look at it.

Isn't this the time to have peace on Earth and good will toward men and love thy neighbor and all how about giving the multitudes a sign of hope and that's what the cross is to the locals not to mention the miners that built this great state if not the world and kept climax going with work ,guts,courage and care for their job. Now where is the care from the company they worked so hard for? Instead a slap in the face!!!! Relight the cross!!!!!

Don't ruin tradition because you're afraid to hurt other people's feelings! You're afraid of offending people but did you stop to think that refusing this tradition offends people as well?!

I grew up in Climax and this was the focus of the Christmas Season. It's a shame that the current owners of the Mine aren't willing to keep the tradition alive!

Please consider keeping the cross lit. It means a lot to many travelers and locals.
Maybe you could add something else too? A snowflake or whatever?
