Pulling Out: It Doesn’t Work for Birth Control Either
On December 12th Canada pulled out from the Kyoto Protocol, the only binding international climate change agreement. This was the first time Canada has withdrawn from any international agreement, damaging our country’s reputation as a good global citizen.
As Canadian youth, we are deeply concerned about the implications of this decision.
We are demanding that the Government of Canada restore Canada’s international reputation.
It must act immediately to rejoin the Kyoto Protocol and develop effective climate change policy. The government must work in the interests of youth and future generations.
THE FUTURE IS NOW. WE ARE THE FUTURE. AND WE ARE HERE.
I was looking at the news today and it just feels like they are pretending we dont exist but the silence from the government is actually a really loud message. People have been messaging me with so many stories about why this matters and I honestly keep losing track of time reading them all when I should be focusing on the next steps for how we get someone in a suit to actually acknowledge us.

I logged on this morning and almost fell off my chair because honestly I never thought this would gain so much speed. My brain is spinning thinking about how many people actually care about our future and it makes me wonder why the government is still acting like we do not exist. This is incredible energy and I am just so glad we are all pulling in this direction together.

Ridiculous decision. Ignoring the environment just to save a few bucks is gonna cost us way more in the long run. FIX THIS.

This is honestly so embarrassing for our country. We should be leading on this stuff not running away from it.
