Jesus would accept her even if the Christian Church does not.

I am a retired minister of the United Church of Christ. (USA). Perhaps it is not appropriate for me to enter the deliberations of another denomination, but I feel compelled to say that the thoughts and life decisions of Gretta Vosper have been of great importance and inspiration to me as I have sought to clarify my own understanding of what it means to have faith/trust in a non-theistic God. Thank you, Gretta.

We have heard Gretta when visiting Canada and liked what was said. We need more open voices like hers to attract the younger folks who no longer buy into the traditional material they are hearing.

God is greater than any dogma that man can come up with. Honor those who celebrate God, don't try to punish them for not sharing man-made beliefs.

I would encourage you to be brave - lead the way United Church o Canada so that we can all eventually be free - free of the shackles that bind us. I want to stand with Gretta in solidarity, even if from the other side of the world.

Acts 5:33-39, there is an account of the apostles before the Council because of their work. A lot of people were furious at them. The Pharisee, Gamaliel, cautioned them against any action. If it had nothing to it, it would disappear. If it was of God, there was no stopping it. "Leave them alone!" were his words. It seems to me that this is the situation we are in with Gretta Vosper. "Leave her alone!" Maybe there is something going on here that is beyond us. It is not over. Give her space to remain within our United Church of Canada!

Last evening 6th Oct 2016 I heard Gretta speak at. the 'Community of St. Luke' Remuera Auckland NZ regarding her ordeal and concerns related to whether The United Church of Canada will accept her ministry. I feel sad that the word Atheist is such a 'hot potato' to many. I applaud Gretta for her 'stand' alongside those people who call themselves Atheists and are judged, ridiculed and silenced. May compassion be the way instead of fear. Aroha - love, Gretta

This is not supposed to be a question of allowing Gretta Vosper to continue nourishing a community with deep values. The committee should be looking at how to encourage other ministers and members to open up and allow all sorts of dialogue and inevitably growth and evolution to fit the times, as those who find common ground with Gretta are doing. The Conference Interview committee's approach reflects fear, power, injustice... oh my god!

I have a deep respect for Gretta Vesper as a spiritual writer who has deepened my understanding of the Mystery which some call God.

Please do not make the UCC into the Empire. Remember: Jesus was considered heretical and so was St Francis of Aussi.etc
