No, no, no. There is no possible reason for anyone who lives in Wyoming except for police officers to be carrying a gun! Will I be forced to call out, "Are there any guns in this space" before I put myself in jeopardy?

I had no idea that this was being considered in our community. This is a shocking decision for a community whose residents typically come to Wyoming for it's excellent schools and safe environment. This must be reverse at once!

I am upset both by the decision and the lack of communication / process by the council on this.

This needs full review with the community and absurd to think that City Council would advance this one without it.

I am disappointed with this decision by City Council, which was made without the backing of scientific evidence. I would like to hear more about how this decision was made and why the Wyoming community was left out of the process.

Please consider the safety of our community - I shudder to think of community events!
Did our police department support this?

I'm disturbed by the lack of public discussion before passage of this resolution and the the council's lack of knowledge on the scientific facts associated with open carry and public safety. i am far more likely to be harmed by an armed 'law abiding' citizen than by criminals that open carry is meant to protect against.

I am shocked and appalled that this would happen in our community. Have we fallen victim to false facts too?
Shame on city council.

Leave the former restrictions of firearms in place.

Working in a public building for a community organization, I have received a lot of safety training. At the JCC, we do not allow guns to be carried--only by trained, on service law enforcement officers. I recall that the stats proved, more harm can be done by allowing people to carry. The best arm of defense is to Run, Hide, and Fight---and wait for trained, armed, law enforcement officer. I am curious to know how they consulted with experts in this field for guidance.

As a public school teacher this is DANGEROUS. We do not know if the guy with a gun is a good guy or a bad guy. Only trained security should be able to carry and in these cases a trained police officer. I don't want a parent showing up at a teacher's door with a gun. Horrible idea. We do not support this!

I believe in gun control and do NOT support concealed carry. We need fewer guns. Keep them at home.
