After living in Wyoming 31 years, I can't believe that our city council has made such a terrible mistake by allowing firearms in public spaces of our city. Please repeal this ugly mistake and make Wyoming a safe city again.

I support this petition. I was disappointed that the city did not consult its citizens and solicit feedback before passing the resolution.

I would be interested in additional information in who proposed this resolution and how council members voted. It will inform my votes for future council member positions.

I believe only law enforcement officers should be allowed to carry deadly guns in public in Wyoming, Ohio.

The resolution passed on April 17 does not benefit my family or the community at large. It puts us all in greater danger.

How am I supposed to recognize the good guy with a gun as opposed to the bad guy with a gun? This is overreach by an uninformed council.

We do have an excellent police force. This is an overreach by City Council and "the Management Team (?)". What are we saying to those outside our wonderful community about the safety of living here - that our police force is inadequate?

While there are many places in the country were the issue of guns cannot be discussed rationally, I am hopeful that Wyoming is one place where the issue can be publically discussed in a rational, evidence-based way. It is disappointing that Council neither engaged the citizens nor apparently any actual scientific evidence in making this decision, but instead relied on a pure political assessment.

A good gun with a gun is still a guy with a gun! I want my neighborhood public spaces to be safe and gun free. We have a wonderful police department! It is their job to keep the citizens of Wyoming safe!

Wyoming does not need to allow guns in municipal locations. The primary purpose of a gun is to be able to kill people.

I strongly support this petition. I would also actively support a public petition drive to place this issue on the ballot if the resolution is not rescinded.
